Further information and to apply for this exhibition:

This year our Wisley show will again coincide with an exhibition of major landscape pieces (amazing Philip Haas sculptures this time) and also the annual Flower Show both events will bring in huge visitor numbers (as will our own!)  Wisley Garden is a stunning venue with vast sales giving exhibitors huge exposure for their work so we will be making our exhibition a really impressive show as always but we are working with restrictions caused by the other events and the ongoing building work. With this in mind we will be aiming to select around 50 sculptures of large and medium scale that we can focus in the Cottage Garden, Exotic Garden, Rose Garden, top of the Rock Garden and Oakwood. Then for the first time we have also been offered a space in the Wisley Gallery area inside the entrance building/shop so we are also looking for approximately 20 small scale pieces.

When deciding on your applications please don’t forget a large number of Wisley visitors are children who touch, climb, hit and poke our prized pieces of art work, even though we try and protect more delicate things, so please do bear that in mind. Wisley have asked that applications are for finished work only and they still won’t accept bronze pieces, if you work in bronze you will have to display in bronze resin and we can have “available in bronze prices” in the catalogue.

Wisley produce a fantastic booklet style trail guide for us, this means we need lots of brilliant photos to showcase lots of the sculptures so please take care with the images you submit (good quality, nice clear pics with decent backgrounds please).

Important Considerations before submitting works: Are you….

Up to the challenge of producing a creative, toddler- proof sculpture and fixings?

Can you be approachable and diplomatic at all times?

Able to cope with the novelty of a queue to purchase sculpture?

Ready to smile while handing out trail maps at the entrance?

Whatever aspect of showing sculpture at Wisley interests you, remember it’s a group venture requiring collaborative efforts from all taking part, from joyfully cleaning birds poo from the sculptures to enthusiastically clinching that large sale for someone else’s work. As well as a mountain of other jobs that I will be looking for volunteers for! You only have until 20th April to get your applications in so act now! Here’s to another successful show in 2020.

Many thanks for all your help and contributions,

Kind regards,   Alison Catchlove (exhibition Manager)
