I am based in Teddington, South West London
I describe myself as a painter/printmaker/graphic designer. I should now add sculptor to this list.
I had to make a decision way back in 1961 if I was going to continue my art school training, after two years at Canterbury, as a graphic designer or a sculptor. At that point graphic design seemed to be the most economically sound way to go.
Over the years, however, working with clay at evening classes was always something I chose to do. The ceramics classes turned to life sculpture classes which is where I am today.
I like to experiment and have recently found paper clay a very creative medium which, for me, needs much more exploration.
I continue as a printmaker and the sculptural forms of my linocuts echo the thee dimensional forms of my sculptures.
