My present sculptural work has been influenced by nature, feelings and expression. Initially from a life drawing abstracted moved and repositioned to give a dimension of the abstract idea. Past work has been analytical of subjects such as animals, then I abstract, distort and experiment or make a piece entirely whimsical or humorous. Sometimes a narrative or poem might be linked to a sculpture.
Graduating with a B.A(hons) at Brighton University in 3 dimensional design I mainly concentrated on plastics and ceramics and went on to exhibit work in galleries in Brighton and surrounding areas. After a post graduate course in education became a teacher and a co-ordinator of Design Technology at a school for special educational needs children in Surrey.
Now working from my studio in East Grinstead in Sussex I enjoy sculpting in ceramics and cold cast metals decorating with glazes, metal acids and colourful resins.
Most recent exhibitions have been in the south-east and south west of the UK.
