Friedel Buecking

I work with many kinds of green wood. Oak is my favourite. My aim is to work creatively with the particular nature of each piece.

For over 30 years my sculptures, furniture and rocking pieces were on Gabriel’s Wharf on London's South Bank near the Oxo Tower. A popular place to visit for families with children.

I work with landscape architects. I have been commissioned to make pieces for community spaces in Hackney, Peckham, Enfield Sutton and Luton. Many schools in the London area feature my sculptures in their playgrounds.

I came to England in 1972 from Germany and I live in St Albans. I studied sculpture from 1985 to1990 at Hertfordshire College of Art and Design where I did a BA and gained a 1st. I am a member of the Richmond Art Society and the Surrey Sculpture Society.
