Denise Jaques was born in London, but now lives in Surrey, working from her home studio in Farnham. She studied Textile Design at Central St. Martins College of Art and Design, which is where she first recognised her experimental approach to colour and texture.
Denise is a mixed media mosaic artist exploring scale and dimension, creating shimmering contemporary mosaics for interior and exterior spaces.
Her colourful textured work has a strong sense of rhythm and movement which has fun playing with the concept of distorted reflections.
Known for her Art Shards which can often be seen at large gardens and public spaces, Denise creates sculptures and decorative pieces combining materials which have reflective qualities and echo fragments of the surrounding environment.
Denise was the winner of Surrey Artist of the Year 2016 and a member of BAMM (British Association for Modern Mosaic).
