Claire Morris

After completing a degree in Sculpture at Chelsea School of Art , Claire has concentrated her recent career creating unique contemporary stone carvings for the home and garden. Using many different types of stone - from pale translucent Alabaster to dark sparkling Kilkenny – the pieces are primarily abstract in design, featuring organic fluid forms.

She has exhibited extensively in London and the South East and worked on a number of commissions for private and public spaces. As a local artist, Horsham District Council commissioned her to produce a large stone sculpture which is permanently sited next to the pond in Horsham Park.

‘Much of my work is inspired by the inherent forms contained in the materials, allowing the sculptures to emerge and develop throughout the carving. The sense of the elemental as you begin to carve into an ancient piece of stone can deeply stir the creative process.’
