Christine Charlesworth

Christine specialises in figurative and portrait sculptures, capturing a feeling of life and movement in her figures, whilst capturing the character, spirit, and motivation of her subject. She works from live sittings or, where necessary, from photographs and other historical records.

An elected member of the Royal Society of British Sculptors, The Society of Women Artists and a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts. Christine has, to date, completed over 40 Private Commissions and is currently working on her 22nd Public Commission, a portrait figure of the writer Aphra Behn, which is a commission she won in 2022 by public vote from over 50 applicants from UK, Continental Europe and USA.

During the Covid Lockdown periods Christine worked on her Commissions of Emily Wilding Davison for Epsom, Greta Thunberg for Winchester, and Dame Ethel Smyth for Woking.

Christine has also made a number of limited edition sculptures, cast in bronze resin or bronze, and her work can be found in many private collections in the UK, Continental Europe, Australia, the Caribbean, Singapore, Russia, India, USA, New Zealand and Hong Kong.
