I live in Kent on the North Downs between Maidstone, Ashford and Canterbury, and have been making sculpture for about 20 years. I have a degree in Fine Art and am a Fellow of the Royal British Society of Sculptors. My work is completely handmade by me and each piece is unique. I manipulate lengths of aluminium mesh using techniques from a variety of sources such as origami, needlework, costume jewelry and macrame. I coax and sew the aluminium into the desired form then strengthen it with steel and resin to become robust and weatherproof sculpture. My work is organic and reflects my love of garden plants, while the more abstract pieces are developed from my memories of scuba-diving over coral reefs. The fragile and ethereal quality of my sculpture lends itself perfectly for siting in both domestic and public gardens and the broad range of colour finishes allow the work to blend or contrast with the surroundings as desired. I am very happy to chat about ideas you may have for your own garden regarding commissioned pieces so do contact me and let's see what we can create together!
