Plinth Workshop
Plinth Workshop by Michael Joseph
Saturday 6th November 10-4pm
A quality plinth will enhance your sculpture. This workshop will show you how to make a simple plywood plinth suitable for an indoor exhibition or, suitably treated, for short term use outdoors. Each participant will go home from the workshop with a plinth made to their own dimensions. Costs of materials are included and notes will be provided.
During the session we will discuss:
• Different materials for plinths
• Colours and finishes
• How to anchor the plinth to the ground
• How to minimise disturbance to the site
• How to make it safe from toppling over in an indoor exhibition
• Means of anchoring the sculpture to the plinth
• Theft security measures
The workshop will take place at Michael Joseph’s studio near Billingshurst.
Cost £10 (materials approx £25 per person to be paid personally to Michael by successful registrants.)
