Gilbert Whyman, Portrait Head Demonstration

Gilbert Whyman will be holding a portrait head demonstration at The Ochre Print Studios, Guildford on Saturday 9th March
from 2.30pm to 5.30pm.

This is a free demonstration and will be part of The Surrey Sculpture Society 25 year Celebration.

For the demonstration, Gilbert will start by building a rough polystyrene shape of the skull and building up the form of the head around this in clay. He will be talking people through his thought process and what he looks for as he does it.

Gilbert teaches sculpture at Heatherley’s School of Fine Art in Chelsea, at Richmond RACC and at the Art Academy, Borough High St, London. He has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, The Society of Portrait Sculptors Exhibition in Cork Street and has work in private collections in UK, Australia, Sweden and New York. He is a Member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors. Surrey Sculpture Society Art Workers Guild Chelsea Art Society.
