After a successful business career, David decided, 18 years ago, to spend more time in a creative role. Living in beautiful surroundings in Haslemere inspires him to sculpt – often in stone, but also in clay, casting in bronze and resin.
David is fascinated by our relationship with nature and with life itself. With many of his pieces, comes a poem - a process that seems to happen in parallel with sculpting. This fourth dimension is a rare bonus in the world of sculpture.
David is Deputy Chair of Surrey Sculpture Society. His work is regularly exhibited in southern England and is in private collections around the UK and Europe. Two of his pieces have pride of place in the new sculpture garden at Farnham Road Hospital in Guildford.
David stages a popular annual sculpture exhibition each June at his studio and six acres of grounds in Haslemere. Called ‘Art & Soul’, it features around 100 works of art from more than 20 artists.
