Clay with its boundless plasticity is a wonderful medium that I love to handle and form into figures and anatomical forms.
I started working in clay and discovered its qualities with the late Maitre Sculpteur Max Siffredi at Vallauris France. The connection was sealed and I have been, whenever possible, developing my technique.
Recently, I created a studio at my home in Ashford, Surrey and discovered the Surrey Sculpture Society whilst visiting the Savill Garden in the 2018 exhibition. The accessibility means I can create regularly, and so this has been for the last 18 wonderful months.
I love nature, aesthetics, the Surrealists, the Bauhaus, and the analytical assessment of form is constantly working in my mind, and in sketches.
