After working predominantly with glass, Vital has been carving stone for the last 10 years.

He has used a variety of stone: Bath stone, Florentine alabaster, Anstrude Clare Roche, Portland and Zimbabwean opal and serpentine stone. All pieces are manually carved with traditional carving tools. Some of the pieces are also cast in resin.

He has done commissions for private gardens in Yorkshire and Buckinghamshire.

Apart from the SSS exhbitions he has been showing his work in his house and garden during the Oxford Artweeks Festival and in the Bampton Gallery.

He makes abstract and figurative sculptures. He gets his information from a number of sources: particularly Art Deco and The modernists.
