I develop original abstract forms, combining my casting experience with a
desire to extend this process, exploring positive and negative textures and
new combinations of materials.
When in an alternative mood, I also create works inspired by animal textures
and forms as seen in their environment. Going beyond the realism of the
animal’s presence, I strive to express more aspects of their physical
makeup.
During my sculpture degree at Winchester School of Art, 1980-83, I
came to the conclusion that the creative experience ought to be accessible
to more people at all stages of their lives.
Hence I now teach part-time at Brighton College of Technology, Northbrook
Art College, Worthing, and at Steyning Adult Education Centre, where I
have been sharing my enthusiasm for sculpture ever since.
