Inspired by the beautiful landscape of trees in Surrey, Roger Day has been working as an artist in clay and wood for twenty years. His early work involved emulating the beautiful patterns found in nature, that run laterally throughout all life. This materialised in studies in stone, wood and bark surfaces, devoloping into intricate pieces of abstracted landscape sculpture. As a local woodland worker he spent seven years learning the craft and skills required to execute the large scale oak sculpture he produces today.

Current works include a public installation of 'The Chain', a twenty-six feetlong oak sculpture installed on the green in Capel village, Surrey. Also two large scale male figures which have been completeed over the last few years, as well as his smaller commercial figure, furniture and abstract work.

Roger regularly sells his work through his own shows as well as taking commissions. He is currently planning work and exhibits in Europe.
