RHS GARDEN WISLEY come and visit our EXCITING SCULPTURE TRAIL 28 August - 30 September.
With a patchwork of late-summer colour in the borders and delicate grasses blowing in the breeze, this is a wonderful time of year to visit Wisley. Against this beautiful backdrop, we will be showing a large variety of sculptures small and large, all sympathetically placed for you to enjoy the whole experience.
All images on this page and the Exhibition page are sculptures at RHS Garden Wisley
PLEASE SEE EXHIBITION PAGE for more details.
The Society was founded in 1994 by Crispin Rayner with a group of 14 sculptors in the Guildford area to promote interaction between sculptors, to organise exhibitions and to encourage the appreciation of sculpture. Since then the membership has grown to establish a vibrant Society, already sending quiet ripples throughout the sculpture world, with some 300 members drawn from all over Surrey and the surrounding counties.
Members work in a wide variety of styles, from figurative to abstract, using a diversity of media, which include bronze, metal, ceramics, wood, stone, sound and found objects. Carving, modelling, and construction are used to create flora, animal and human form and the imaginative. The styles are diverse and show beauty, movement, skill and can be thought provoking. The following pages set out the organisation of the Society.
The Society plays a proactive role in the promotion of sculpture as a member of Smart, an organisation that markets the arts around Surrey, and as a member of Guildford Arts that promotes the arts in Guildford.
