Surrey Sculpture Society

Exhibitions

There is ample parking at or near all the exhibitions. The sculptures displayed at the Society's exhibitions vary in style from figurative to abstract and are as individual as the Society's members. Members carve, model and construct to create sculpture in a diverse range of materials from bronze to wood. Kinetics and sound are also used.

Denbies Wine Estate

30 March - 25 April London Road, Dorking RH5 6AA.
A large number of indoor sculptures will be tastefully displayed in the picture Gallery and entrance, with several larger outdoor works to be viewed in the new Cloisters.
This is a fun exhibition where our members will be showing a huge variety of subjects, styles and finishes.

Day Breaks Over the Ocean


Borde Hill Garden

1 - 31 May Carefully placed pieces of sculpture lead along a trail through these lovely gardens of dazzling azaleas and rhododendrons with spectacular views of Sussex parkland beyond. Borde Hill Gardens is beginning to get a reputation for displaying particularly wonderful specimens and throughout May sculptures are nestled against a blaze of colour.

Numerous garden sculptures are to be found on the trail, also, in the Green Tree Gallery smaller indoor sculptures will be displayed. Open daily from 10am - 6pm. Admission £7.50, Senior Citizens £6.50 children £4.00. Facilities include: restaurant, tearoom, plant sales, childrens playground and art gallery. Balcombe Road, north of Haywards Heath, RH16 1XP.

13 July - 8 August Set in a beautiful Walled garden you will find nestled amongst the flowers and on the lawns sculptures which will surpise and delight you.

The Garden is open from 11.00 am to 5.00 pm (closed Mondays). Admission House Garden and Grounds adult £8 child £4 concessions £7.50

Beaulieu

25 June - 22 August An exciting new venue for the society for the summer of 2010. Located in the heart of the New Forest National Park, Beaulieu is perhaps most famous as the home of the National Motor Museum, however it also includes the Palace House, Beaulieu Abbey, extensive gardens and grounds and many other attractions.

Our sculpture trail will be in the garden areas around the Palace House, with a few smaller sculptures in the house itself (home of the Montagu family since 1538).

Facilities include a restaurant and picnic areas

Beaulieu is open 7 days a week throughout the year, 10 - 5 and from Whitsun until end September, 10 - 6pm. Sat nav postcode is SO42 7ZN.

RHS Garden Wisley
This will be our 13th year at RHS Garden Wisley when we will once more be delighted to be showing a Sculpture Trail in this wonderful garden. Come and see us and have a chance to talk with the sculptors about the work displayed. There is no additional charge for the Trail once inside the garden. This is one of our most exciting Trails showing work of exceptional standard.

Visitors can also take advantage of seeing both the Trail and the Wisley Flower Show on Friday 10 - Sunday 12 September - visit Wisley's website address below for more information.
Additional facilities at RHS Garden Wisley include a gift shop, plant centre, restaurant and cafes.

The Garden opens at 10am on weekdays, 9am at weekends and bank holidays. The garden closes at 6pm, last entry time 5pm. By road: 20 miles SW of London, on the A3, junction 10 of the M25. Follow the tourist attraction brown flower symbol on signposts. By rail: from London Waterloo to West Byfleet or Woking. Parking is free at the garden.

26 September - 17 October The society is participating once more in King Edwards annual celebration of the Arts. This is an extensive display of sculpture by the society, exhibiting indoors alongside paintings, drawings and photographs and outside on the Surrey Sculpture Society Trail around the grounds.
Open daily 10am - 5pm. Admission free, £1 for catalogue
