Abstraction from the human figure has been a consistent theme in my work. Through my sculptural practice I distil the experience of the process, and make physical a narrative.

An early fascination with line and form through dance was embodied in unique wheel-thrown functional cylinders, vases and bowls, which were altered into more sculptural shapes reminiscent of the human figure. Since moving to the UK in 1999 from San Francisco, I have concentrated on abstract figuration in my sculptures as well as devising and executing one-off projects.

I begin figurative pieces in either clay or plaster, before creating a mould from which iron or marble resins are made. All works are suitable for outdoor or indoor display.

Involved in art for over 25 years, I am a workshop facilitator, arts organiser, administrator and consultant, as well as a tutor for children and adults courses.
