I am a designer/maker working mainly as a sculptor. My source of inspiration is the natural world with particular reference to plants and the landscape. Inspiration is often found in the garden, but I love woods and trees and Surrey has plenty of these. My favourite landscapes, though, are the South Downs in Sussex, their rolling contours lit by reflected light from the sea.
Many of my larger works are made to be sited outdoors and these I make from cast cement which is weatherproof and durable. I make all my own moulds and cast each sculpture myself.
I am one of the founder members of the Surrey Sculpture Society, exhibiting at their various exhibitions throughout the year where I look forward to meeting fellow sculptors. I take part in the Surrey Artists Open Studios and welcome visitors to my workshop and garden. I am also an exhibiting member of both Guildford and Farnham Art Societies.
