Heather’s sculptural work is enlivened by the human body. She explores how light and reflection from the surface of the skin rests on the figure. The illusive skin transformed into planes of light alters the surface, to create her abstracted figures.
Heather’s material choices are never simple, she uses a cementious polymerised resin together with graded carving stones, recrystallized carbonate minerals such as calcite, dolomite and limestones and metamorphic rocks. She continues to analyse the range of stone that is available both regionally and worldwide and the processes to find the perfect match for each piece.
She regularly exhibits in Kent and Open Studios, and has exhibited with The Mall Galleries in London. Heather hopes to become an active and exhibiting member of the Surrey Sculpture Society.
Heather lives in Langton Green, Tunbridge Wells
