I have been working as a professional sculpture for the past 35 years. I work in clay then cast my pieces in bronze or various resins. In recent years my abstract sculptures have been constructed with stainless steel.
In both my figurative and abstract works I’m aiming to illustrate the natural vitality linking humans and other living forms. This is particularly evident in some of my more recent works: ‘In Flight’, ‘Vol au Vent’ and ‘Budburst’.
I’ve had numerous private commissions over the years, as well as some important public commissions. These include sculptures within architectural projects (the London Pavilion, Piccadilly Circus) business parks (Peterborough and Hampshire) a residential apartment building in London Docklands, a sculpture for Hereford Hospital and a public sculpture in Tonbridge town centre.
I’m an active participant in many SSS exhibitions. In addition, my work can be seen at Pashley Manor Gardens, East Sussex and Chilstone Garden Ornaments, Tunbridge Wells. I’ve previously exhibited at Artparks International, Guernsey; and in show gardens at both Chelsea and Hampton Court Flower Shows. This year I was invited to display a 5m tall piece on Herm island in the Channel Islands. ‘In Flight’, representing sails and wings, has been installed at the entrance to the harbour.
